Israel launches air strikes on Gaza
The violence comes as Israeli forces began withdrawing from Jenin, following a two-day operation where they reportedly uncovered bomb manufacturing sites and weapons stores.
Israel has carried out air strikes on the Gaza Strip in response to rocket fire from Palestinian militants. It follows the end of a two-day Israeli military operation in the West Bank.
The French justice ministry has confirmed that nearly 4,000 people have been arrested for taking part in the rioting and looting that erupted after the police shot a teenager last week.
And the Taliban have ordered hair and beauty salons in Afghanistan to shut in the latest restriction faced by women.
