China warns UK government over Hong Kong

Chinese government accuses Britain of meddling in Hong Kong’s affairs.

China has accused Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab of interfering in China’s internal affairs after he spoke to Hong Kong’s leader Carrie Lam. In a statement published online a spokesperson said "China solemnly demands that the British side immediately stop all actions that meddle in Hong Kong affairs”. This diplomatic row comes as further protests are planned by democracy campaigners in the region.
