China appeals for dialogue with US over trade

Xi appeals to Trump for dialogue over trade; music to mark 50 years since Stonewall raids

The Chinese leader, Xi Jinping, has appealed to President Trump for dialogue rather than confrontation, as they discuss their trade war at the G20 summit in Japan.

Also in the programme: Mr Trump has made a last minute offer to meet the North Korean leader, Kim Jong-un on Sunday.

And a musical performance to mark 50 years since New York's gay community rose up against police raids at the Stonewall Inn.

Joining Julian Worricker to discuss these and other issues are Stacy Hilliard-Cork, a US-born political commentator and consultant and former Republican Party activist now based in London, and Barnaby Phillips, director of communications for the Elephant Protection Initiative, and former international television and radio correspondent.
