Trump appointee changes his testimony to impeachment investigators
EU ambassador says that US aid "likely" hinged on a political inquiry into Trump opponent
Gordon Sondland, who was appointed by President Trump as the US ambassador to the EU, says he now remembers telling a Ukrainian official that US military aid "likely" hinged on a political inquiry sought by Mr Trump. He had previously denied any politically motivated aid freeze. Mr Trump denies withholding $400m in aid to prod Ukraine into investigating his political rival, Joe Biden.
Also on the programme a pro-Beijing lawmaker is stabbed in Hong Kong. And the official general election campaign in the UK kicks off today.
