India to revoke special status for Kashmir
India is revoking the special status hitherto enjoyed by Jammu and Kashmir -- the country's only Muslim-majority state.
India has issued a presidential decree revoking the special status of Jammu and Kashmir -- the country's only Muslim-majority state. Opponents of the government have expressed outrage.
Also in the programme: Police in Hong Kong have fired teargas at activists trying to enforce a general strike. And a UN-backed human rights team has called for a complete ban on arms sales to Myanmar, and for sanctions on companies linked to the country's military.
