Is intelligence ever artificial?
We look at how artificial intelligence has evolved to play such a central part of life
Artificial intelligence's presence in our work and leisure lives continue to evolve; at a tech conference in Shanghai, two big tech names - the boss of Alibaba Jack Ma and the Tesla founder Elon Musk - were debating the merits of this pervasive technology. We look at the implications on jobs and the economy. Also, AI is often talked about as an impending revolution - when it’s really a continuation in the evolution of advances in computers’ abilities, as Tabitha Goldstaub the co-founder of CognitionX, explains. Also in the programme, the Congo Basin rainforest is often called the world's second green lung, the first being the Amazon. Like the Amazon, a huge swathe of central Africa is currently ablaze – we look at the costs and ways to stop fires ruining forests vital to human populations. And finally, it’s been 100 years since the caravan began to manufactured on a commercial scale. The BBC’s caravan novice Elizabeth Hotson hits the road for some rest, relaxation and a bit of work.
