The race to combat Ebola

Despite available vaccines the latest outbreak of Ebola shows no sign of being contained.

Despite available vaccines, the latest outbreak of Ebola in the Democratic Republic of Congo shows no sign of being contained. Dr Josie Golding at the Wellcome Trust describes the challenges involved in rolling out an effective vaccine in the conflict-ridden country. Dr Paul Stoffels is chief scientist at Johnson & Johnson, which has developed one of the available vaccines. He tells us how 9/11 helped spur the company into developing the inoculation. Also in the programme, Boris Johnson will become the UK's next prime minister on Wednesday, after winning the Conservative party leadership contest. We'll hear what that means for Brexit. Plus we travel to Venice to hear how it has become a city on the front line in the battle against over-tourism.
