WHO confirms coronavirus outbreak as pandemic

The coronavirus outbreak has been labelled a pandemic by the World Health Organization.

We have the latest on the coronavirus outbreak around the world following the decision by WHO to label it as pandemic. We speak to a doctor in Italy and another in Spain, who are both dealing with the virus, to talk to one another and share experiences. BBC Persian explain the impact of the virus on lives in Iran; and we’ll hear from China, where the number of new infections appears to be decreasing by the day.

A judge in New York has sentenced the Hollywood film producer, Harvey Weinstein, to 23 years in prison, for rape and sexual assault. We get details from our correspondent.

And we’re gathering reaction from Russia, as Vladimir Putin suggests he has not ruled our running for president beyond 2024.
