Turkey acquits Gezi Park protesters

Nine activists from the 2013 protests will be released after the surprise ruling

A court in Turkey has acquitted nine people who were put on trial over the Gezi Park protests in Istanbul in 2013. The group were accused of trying to overthrow the government, but the judge said there was insufficient evidence.The surprise ruling means the activists will be released.
