There have been violent clashes in Hong Kong between police and pro-democracy protesters.
Demonstrations have been held in several areas of Hong Kong, including in the financial district. It comes hours after Beijing marked 70 years since the Communist Party came to power with extravagant celebrations. We get more details from BBC Chinese and our China media analyst.
