Impeachment inquiry begins against President Trump

House of Representatives begins investigation into phone call with Ukrainian leader

The White House has released details of a phone call between President Trump and his Ukrainian counterpart in which Mr Trump asked Volodymyr Zelensky to investigate Democratic electoral candidate Joe Biden. As the House of Representatives begins an impeachment inquiry, we get the latest from our Washington reporter.

And following a landmark ruling by the Supreme Court on Tuesday, UK politicians have now returned to Westminster. With five weeks till Britain is due to leave the European Union, we speak to protesters outside parliament and examine how close Britain and the EU are to an eventual withdrawal deal.
