Global climate strike
Millions of people are joining a global climate strike led by schoolchildren.
There have been massive crowds in cities around the world, with protesters demanding immediate action on global warming. We go live to Washington to speak to protesters getting ready to march. We also hear from listeners about how climate change is affecting them, speak to different generations of climate activists and ask whether activism works.
And Isra Hirsi, the co-founder of the U.S. Youth Climate Strike and the daughter of Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, talks about her activism and environmental racism, issues that specifically affect African-American and indigenous communities.
