
US novelist Toni Morrison dies
The first African-American woman to win Nobel prize of literature has died.
We bring reaction to the death of the US author Toni Morrison, who has died at the age of 88. The author of 11 novels, she won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1993. Her book Beloved told the story of a female African-American slave and was made into a film starring Oprah Winfrey in 1998.
Indian-administered Kashmir remains in lockdown following the government’s decision to strip the state of its special status. We’ll explain how the story has been covered in India, and speak to those who condemn the government’s decision and to those who support it.
In the aftermath of the two mass shootings in the US, the conversation on media continues about the American gun culture.
