Trump to congresswomen of colour: Leave the US
BBC OS gives a vibrant account of the day’s events with explanation and reaction from those involved.
US President Donald Trump has been accused of racism after posting tweets attacking Democratic congresswomen. He said the women "originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe". He was referring to four congresswomen - three who were born in the US and one who came as a child refugee. His remarks have been widely condemned as racist. We hear from Washington.
Also, we hear about a new global study into the eating disorder anorexia nervosa. It suggests that it is at least partly a metabolic disorder, and not purely psychiatric as previously thought.
And South Africa's former President Jacob Zuma has told a judge-led inquiry that allegations of corruption against him were a "conspiracy" aimed at removing him from the political scene. We hear from our correspondent who was at the court.
