Theresa May has said she will quit as Conservative leader on 7 June, paving the way for a contest to decide a new prime minister.
British Prime Minister Theresa May has confirmed that she will stand down as leader of her party on 7th June, signalling the start of a leadership election that will choose a new Prime Minister. She was close to tears as she spoke outside her official residence, expressing her “deep regret” that she had been unable to deliver Britain’s exit from the European Union. We’ll hear how British voters view her time in office and hear some views from the rest of the EU too.
