Alan García is accused of taking bribes from a construction company - claims he denies
Peru's former president, Alan García, has shot himself in the neck as police came to arrest him. He's now believed to be in a serious condition in hospital in the capital, Lima. Mr García is accused of taking bribes from Brazilian construction company Odebrecht - claims he denies.
Also, the latest on elections in Indonesia where the president looks to be on course for re-election, according to early unofficial results. He's said to be about 10 percentage points ahead of his rival.
