Trump impeachment inquiry: public hearings open in Washington
US diplomats grilled by congressmen
Mr Trump is accused of trying to press Ukraine into investigating his political rival, Joe Biden. Giving his testimony, the acting US ambassador to Ukraine, Bill Taylor said a staff member was told that Mr Trump cared more about the investigations into Mr Biden than about Ukraine.
