Afghanistan: the deadliest conflict in the world

The BBC has tracked every conflict-related death in Afghanistan in the month of August and the data suggests that the war is even deadlier than previously thought. An average of 74 men, women and children were killed every day in Afghanistan, making it the deadliest conflict in the world.

Also in the programme: Israel goes to the polls for the second time this year, with the future of prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu once again in the balance, as corruption allegations continue to dog him. And the Indonesian army is being deployed to fight forest fires which have seen entire regions blanketed with a thick layer of smoke.
