
Gulf tension: reports of confrontation between Iranian and British ships
UK Ministry of Defence says Iranian vessels tried to block the passage of a British oil tanker near the Gulf.
Iranian boats tried to block the passage of a British oil tanker through the Strait of Hormuz - before being driven off by a Royal Navy frigate, which was forced to move into position between the ships, the UK Ministry of Defence has said. The news comes just days after the US announced a plan to safeguard shipping moving in and out of the Gulf. We’ll speak to a British defence minister, and hear the view from Iran.
