Political row erupts after UK ambassador to US resigns

Sir Kim Darroch has resigned as British ambassador to the US after a leak of diplomatic emails which were critical of President Trump's administration. President Trump said on Monday that the US would not deal with Sir Kim. A BBC correspondent says that Sir Kim decided to resign after Boris Johnson - the frontrunner to replace Prime Minister Theresa May - refused to support him in a televised leadership debate.

Also in the programme: Brazilian mining giant Vale is ordered to pay compensation for a dam collapse in January which killed 248 people; and an extremely old human skull is changing European history.
