Ethiopia's military chief and regional president killed in apparent power grab.

The Ethiopian government says the national army's chief of staff, Seare Mekonnen, has been shot dead - together with another officer - at his residence in the capital Addis Ababa. Their deaths come hours after the assassination of the governor of the northern region of Amhara. We hear from an Ethiopian government spokeswoman.

Also in the programme: voters in the Turkish city of Istanbul go to the polls in a re-run election which is being seen as of key significance at a national level, and the Ukrainian war hero now viewed as a pariah.
