
Increased support for populists in European elections
Populist parties top the polls in France, Italy and the UK in the European elections
The European elections have seen Nigel Farage's Brexit Party win a third of the vote in the UK, a success repeated by La Lega in Italy, while in France Marine Le Pen's party narrowly beat President Macron's bloc for top spot.
Also in the programme: In Britain the ruling Conservative party tumbles to an unprecedented fifth place, while the main opposition Labour party also ceded support to the anti-Brexit Liberal Democrats and Greens. What does all this mean for future Brexit negotiations and those candidates vying to be the next Conservative leader and future British prime minister?
