
Sudan Military Coup Topples Bashir

The African Union has condemned the military takeover in Sudan following the arrest of the President Omar al Bashir. In a statement, the Chairperson of the AU Commission (Moussa Faki Mahamat) said it was not an appropriate response to the challenges facing Sudan and the aspirations of its people.
Also in the programme: Wikileaks co-founder, Julian Assange, arrested in London; and the International Committee of the Red Cross has suspended its operations in Afghanistan following a statement from the Taliban banning all activity by the Red Cross and the World Health Organisation until further notice.
