US coronavirus cases surpass 60,000

Half of those infected are in New York state,

The United States says it now has more than sixty thousand cases of coronavirus, with a rise of ten thousand in one day; a man accused of deadly attacks on mosques in the New Zealand city of Christchurch a year ago has pleaded guilty to 51 charges of murder; and charity workers in the world’s largest refugee settlement on the Bangladesh border with Myanmar say the coronavirus has arrived there.
