General Qasem Soleimani, the head of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards' elite Quds Force, has been killed by US forces in Iraq; the Australian navy has begun evacuating people trapped in the fire-ravaged town of Mallacoota on the Victoria coast; and we hear about the centenary of the invention of an electronic musical instrument - it's called the Theremin and creates sci-fi sound effects and it's enjoying a bit of a revival.
