Trump Offers 'Compromise' To End Government Shutdown
Democrats have dismissed his offer.
Democrats in the US Congress have dismissed a proposal by President Trump on immigration policy, which aims to end the partial shutdown of the US government. Mr Trump offered what he described as a compromise, which includes extending protection for the so-called Dreamers and other undocumented immigrants, in return for funding for his wall along the Mexican border. But the Democratic senator Chuck Schumer said Mr Trump was only giving back what he had single-handedly taken away earlier.
Also on the programme we meet the novelist Sabina Khan whose new book explores the hatred and harassment faced by the LGBT community in Bangladesh.
