Does The UK Prime Minister Still Wield Power?

Theresa May has survived a vote of no confidence, but has she any power over her MPs?

Ever since Theresa May took up the role of British Prime Minister, one of the questions that has followed her was how long she's going to last. Her own Conservative party is deeply divided over Brexit; and as last week's confidence vote made it clear, nearly a third of her own MPs want her to go. She is now safely in place for a year, but does she still have any power or authority?

Also on the programme in 2015 the world's nations came together to make a historic commitment to tackle climate change. The resultant Paris Climate Accord, aims to limit global temperature rises to well below two degrees Celsius. But it's taken three years to find consensus on some very tricky questions about the rulebook for the Paris agreement and how the accord should be implemented. Also many countries and international organisations called for greater ambition, to tackle the threats facing the environment. Is this therefore too little too late?

Our panel guests are political commentator Giles Kenningham and Bloomberg journalist Stephanie Baker.
