Algeria protests

Police used tear gas to prevent demonstrators reaching a central square in the Algerian capital.

We hear from demonstrators in Algeria, where thousands of people have been protesting in the capital Algiers against President Bouteflika's decision to run for a fifth term.

Crowds on the Indian side of a border crossing with Pakistan have welcomed back an Indian fighter pilot who was released by Pakistan. Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman's plane was shot down in the disputed Kashmir region on Wednesday. We speak to our correspondents in Delhi and Islamabad.
