US Confirms Syria Troop Withdrawal

President Trump says US troops have defeated Islamic State in Syria, and are preparing to pull out.

US officials say that all two thousand American troops in Syria have begun pulling out of the country. We'll get our Middle East regional editor Alan Johnston to explain the US withdrawal.

Also today, Facebook is in spotlight again over its data privacy practises.According to the New York Times, Facebook has shared access to users's data with other tech firms, including Amazon, Apple, Microsoft, Netflix, Spotify and Yandex. The BBC's Technology Correspondent Rory Cellan-Jones explains the story.
