The US comedian stepped down after controversy over his homophobic tweets

US comedian and actor Kevin Hart says he will now not host the 2019 Oscars. The decision follows controversy over his homophobic tweets. We look at the discussion over whether he should have stepped down or not. Also, German Chancellor Angela Merkel has given an emotional farewell speech to her ruling Christian Democrats (CDU), as she steps down as party leader. She was speaking at a special party conference to elect her successor. We hear from our correspondent there.
