The British prime minister, Theresa May, is giving a press conference as she battles to save her Brexit plan with resignations and opposition from her party's MPs.
The British prime minister, Theresa May, has been speaking in a press conference saying that she will fight on to get the Brexit deal done. Britain is due to leave the European Union by the end of March 2019 but Mrs May has been under growing pressure to ditch a draft agreement on the withdrawal. Several members of her government have resigned and some MPs are calling for a leadership challenge.
Also today: scientists warn that rising numbers of extreme wildfires could result in a significant increase in CO₂ emissions.
