
Crunch Meeting on Brexit Deal
The British prime minister, Theresa May, has been holding a crunch meeting with her cabinet to try to ensure support for a draft Brexit deal.
The latest news lines on the UK government meeting; Prime Minister Theresa May is trying to win her colleagues’ support for a draft Brexit agreement between the UK and EU. The UK is due to leave the European Union by the end of March 2019.
Also, an interview with Mimi Mefo Takambo in Cameroon. She was arrested for spreading fake news but charges against her were dropped.
And, we’ll hear from women in Ireland who have been posting photos of their underwear on social media with the hashtag #ThisIsNotConsent, protesting against a defence barrister’s call for jurors to take into account the underwear a complainant was wearing.
Also, Nuala McGovern is taking part in an international news conference in Edinburgh. and one of the conversations that took place today was around activism in journalism. She spoke to Melissa Falkowski and Dara Rosen, survivors of the shooting at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in the US.
