Philippines: Millions Braced For Storm

Thousands begin evacuating from coastal areas as a typhoon threatens to strike

Typhoon Mangkhut is due to make landfall on the northern tip of the main island of Luzon in the Philippines by the weekend. Ten million people are in the path of the storm, along with millions more in coastal areas of southern China. We hear from our correspondent there.

The US President has denied the official estimate that nearly three thousand people died as a result of last year's Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico. Donald Trump tweeted that the figure was inflated to make him look bad. BBC reporter Tara McKelvey joins us from New York.

And we find out what happened to the Chinese restaurant where a pregnant woman found a dead rat in her soup.
