High level talks are under way in Washington to try and reduce US-China trade tensions. Our regular economic commentator, business journalist Diane Brady, assesses whether there is likely to be any breakthrough. Also in the programme, following a vote in the House of Commons urging UK prime minister Theresa May to restart negotiations with the EU over Brexit, we look at the possible next steps with Roger Bootle of Capital Economics, and Jonathan Portes, professor of economics at Kings College, London. Quarterly growth at Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba is at its weakest level for two years, though the firm's net income rose 33%. Chris Walton, director of consultants Red Archer Retail in Minneapolis assesses the strength of the firm.
