
Venezuela: European Ultimatum for Maduro Looms
An ultimatum for Venezuela's President Maduro to call fresh elections is set to expire.
Venezuela's President Nicolas Maduro faces pressure to call new elections. A number of EU countries have said they will recognise opposition leader Juan Guaido as president if Mr Maduro fails to announce a second vote before the eight-day ultimatum expires. And, as the US says they are stepping up preparations to send humanitarian aid to Venezuela, we speak to a doctor in Caracas about how desperately aid is needed.
