French Police Criticised After Violent Protests

French police have been criticised for their handling of violent protests in Paris in which one person is reported to have been killed and hundreds injured. The French authorities say almost four-hundred people have been arrested.

Also in the programme: A key Taliban commander has been killed in a US airstrike in Afghanistan; and the United Nations has condemned a spate of sexual assaults on women in South Sudan.
