Battle for Yemen City Intensifies

Fighting for the Yemen city of Hodeidah intensifies as the WFP doubles food aid

Fighting for the Yemen city of Hodeidah intensifies between Houthi rebels holding the vital port, and a Saudi-led coalition trying to take it on behalf of the internationally recognised government of Yemen, as the UN World Food Programme says it is doubling aid to prevent mass starvation.

Also in the programme: Iraq has filled five cabinet posts - not from among established politicians - but from among thousands of online applicants. And Asia Bibi, the Pakistani Christian woman, acquitted on blasphemy charges by the country's Supreme Court, but whose whereabouts remain unknown.
