Top Afghan Security Official Killed by Taliban
Kandahar police chief, General Abdul Raziq, killed in a Taliban gun attack
The provincial police chief in Kandahar, General Abdul Raziq, was shot dead after a high-level security meeting attended by US commander General Scott Miller, who escaped unhurt. The Taliban says it was behind the attack.
