Trump: Khashoggi Murder ‘Worst Cover Up’

The US has faced pressure to toughen its stance on Saudi Arabia

US President Donald Trump has called Saudi Arabia's response to the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi "the worst cover-up ever". He has also highlighted the kingdom's importance as a US ally.

The BBC has found evidence that China is torturing and mistreating Muslims in its re-education camps. The government is accused of locking up tens of thousands of Muslims in camps without trial, in its western region of Xinjiang.

In South Africa, a televised rape trial has prompted a furious public backlash. A young woman who says she was raped by her pastor from the age of 14 - was subjected to a lengthy and, at times, aggressively intimate cross-examination by the defence lawyer.
