Nationalists Make Gains in Sweden Elections

Sweden's anti-immigration party made large gains in Sunday's general election

Sweden's anti-immigration party has made large gains in Sunday's general election as establishment blocs appear deadlocked, partial results show. The governing centre-left coalition is marginally ahead of its centre-right Alliance rivals, with around 40% each.

Sudan's president, Omar al-Bashir, has dissolved the government, saying he needed to tackle the crisis-hit economy. The number of ministries is to be reduced from thirty-one to twenty-one. President Bashir said his intervention was necessary to solve the state of distress and frustration faced by the country.

It caused national outrage earlier this year when it emerged that many of the Windrush generation had been stripped of their British citizenship. The BBC's Mandy Kirton wanted to find out about her own family's experiences.
