Voting underway in Zimbabwe

Ousted president Robert Mugabe is in the headlines, but not on the ballot.

Polls are open in Zimbabwe, and while Robert Mugabe isn't on the ballot (a first for independent Zimbabwe), he has caused a stir by proclaiming that he would never vote for a candidate from his former party, ZANU-PF.

The government of Assam state in India strips thousands of people of their citizenship. Most of those affected came to India in 1971 from Bangladesh when it fought a war for independence from Pakistan.
