Cardinal Pell to Stand Trial

Vatican treasurer Cardinal George Pell will stand trial on historical sexual assault charges, a court has ruled. Cardinal Pell formally pleaded not guilty to the charges on Tuesday. He has consistently denied any wrongdoing.

Millions of Syrians who have fled the country's civil war have been told to lay claim to their homes by early May or risk forfeiting them to the state. Homeowners have been told to present deeds or lose their property under what is known as Law Ten.

Julius Adewale Adedeji - a superintendent of police in charge of the Criminal Investigative Bureau in Ekiti state - has just been given the country's "Most Dedicated Police Officer" award by the US Embassy in Nigeria. He is said to have never taken a bribe.
