
Sudan to Release All Political Prisoners
President Omar al-Bashir has ordered their immediate release
President Omar al-Bashir of Sudan has ordered the immediate release of all political prisoners. According to state TV, the decision was taken to "promote peace and harmony". Several political parties had been calling for detainees to be freed so that they could take part in talks about how to solve some of the country's problems.
Facebook's founder, Mark Zuckerberg, has apologised to a US senate committee for allowing other firms to misuse his platform's personal data for political ends. Mr Zuckerberg said he was personally accountable for any failure by Facebook to live up to its responsibilities.
Libyan militants are keeping thousands of men, women and children prisoners, and often torturing them. According to a new UN report, the people are seized because of their tribe, family relations, or political beliefs.
