Russia and the UK clashed at the UN Security Council
The Russian ambassador to the United Nations has used a meeting of the Security Council to accuse Britain of inventing a fake story that his country poisoned the former double agent, Sergei Skripal, and his daughter in the English city of Salisbury.
President Zuma is due to appear in court to face corruption charges in connection with a multi-billion dollar arms deal. He's appearing at the Durban High Court, in the Kwazulu Natal heartland from where he gleans most support.
The former president of Brazil, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, has been given until late Friday afternoon to surrender to police or face arrest. The Supreme Court rejected his plea to remain free while he appeals against a 12-year prison sentence for corruption.
