He has been barred from standing against Vladimir Putin after Russia's electoral commission said a fraud conviction against Mr Navalny made him ineligible to be a candidate. Also, police in Peru clash with protesters angry at President Kuczynski's decision to pardon a jailed predecessor, and Apple is facing possible legal action in Israel after it admitted deliberately slowing the performance of older iPhones.
