British woman jailed for smuggling 300 painkiller tablets into Egypt

A British woman has been jailed for three years for smuggling painkillers into Egypt.

The family of British woman Laura Plummer have said she will appeal against a three year jail term for smuggling strong pain killers into the country. Tramadol is legal in the UK but not in Egypt, she says her Egyptian boyfriend asked her to bring the 300 tablets to him for his back pain.
