What Does it Mean to be Spanish Now?

With the Catalan election this week, we look at questions of identity and unity in Spain.

In the days leading up to the Catalan regional election, Ben James is travelling around Spain – on a train. The election was called in response to the illegal independence referendum in Catalonia. Today Ben goes from Bilbao to Lleida, a small Catalan city, inland from Barcelona. Are attitudes in the rural interior any different from those in the big city?

Also today: The White House has released its new US National Security policy. And we speak more about the death of Kim Jong-Hyun, the lead singer of the world's biggest K-Pop - or Korean Pop band, Shinee.
