
Eight Sacked Catalan Ministers Remanded in Custody
Prosecutors accuse them of rebellion and sedition in their attempts to split from Spain
Six days ago the leaders of Catalonia were declaring independence from Spain. Today, eight of those leaders have been remanded in custody by a Spanish high court judge, accused of rebellion, sedition and misuse of public funds. The prosecutor also asked the judge to issue a European Arrest Warrant for ousted Catalan leader Carles Puigdemont.
Also in the programme: an Egyptian television presenter has been sentenced to three years in jail after she appeared to cast single motherhood in a positive light, and a brand new species of Orangutan has been discovered.
