Russia: Huge Majority for Putin
Vladimir Putin will lead Russia for another six years
Vladimir Putin will lead Russia for another six years, after securing an expected victory in Sunday's presidential election. With almost all the ballots counted, he had received more than 76% of the vote, the central election commission said.
Russia has insisted it was not responsible for the poisoning of the double agent, Sergei Skripal, and his daughter in Britain. President Putin denied that Russia was running a chemical weapons programme or that it even had stockpiles of the nerve agent Novichok.
Zimbabwe's new President, Emmerson Mnangagwa, has confirmed that presidential and parliamentary elections will take place in July.
