Alabama Senate Race: US Democratic Party Scores Historic Win

After a quarter of a century, a Democratic Party candidate - Doug Jones - has won a Senate seat in Alabama.

Officials have now extended the detainment of the celebrated American-Cameroonian writer, Patrice Nganang, who was detained last week at the airport following allegations he has written articles critical of an official clampdown of the Enlgish-speaking minority.
